Garden saunas and cabins
A garden sauna is a small building where a carpenter’s skill shows in every joint. We build garden saunas, sauna cabins and storage huts from footings to benches, and handle stove installation with our partners.
In a sauna building the decisive things are ventilation, the vapour barrier and the quality of timber. For benches we use black alder, aspen or heat-treated timber depending on the space and the stove.
Common questions
Does a garden sauna need a permit?
Usually at least a minor permit, depending on the municipality.
Wood or electric stove?
Either works. A wood stove needs a chimney and safe clearances. We explain the differences and you choose.
Can a garden sauna have a shower?
Yes. Water and drainage are done with a partner.
How big should a garden sauna be?
We size it to your use and plot, and give recommendations from experience.
General questions
How much will it cost?
It always depends on the job, so we do not quote blind. We come and look and give you a quote. Asking for a quote does not commit you to anything.
Who makes the decisions?
You do. We explain the options and give recommendations from long experience, but the final choices are always yours.
Does the household tax deduction apply?
For private individuals, usually on the labour share when the work is done in your own home or holiday home.
Where do you work?
Helsinki, Espoo, Vantaa, Kauniainen, Kirkkonummi and Sipoo. For larger jobs, elsewhere in Uusimaa too.
Can I deal with you in English?
Yes. Jason and the crew work in English.
Are your contractor’s obligations in order?
Yes. We are a Tilaajavastuu.fi Luotettava Kumppani, so tax, pension insurance and other records are verifiable.
